This page explains how to submit legal requests related to content hosted or processed by OpenHOA, including takedown requests, DMCA notices, disputes, and other formal legal communications.
OpenHOA is a research and analysis platform that processes user-submitted materials. We do not verify submissions as factual findings, but we take legal and rights-based requests seriously and respond in accordance with applicable law.

Requests sent through other channels (support tickets, social media, or general contact forms) may not be processed.
Types of Requests We Accept
1. Takedown Requests (Non-DMCA)
If you believe content hosted or processed by OpenHOA should be removed for legal or rights-based reasons (other than copyright), you may submit a takedown request.
Examples include:
- Privacy or personal data concerns
- Claims of unauthorized document submission
- Allegations of unlawful content
Required Information
Please include:
- Your full name and contact information
- Your relationship to the content (e.g., subject, rights holder, authorized representative)
- URLs or identifiers of the relevant content
- A clear explanation of the basis for the request
- Any supporting documentation
- A statement that the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge
Incomplete requests may be delayed or declined.
2. DMCA Copyright Notices
If you believe content infringes your copyright, submit a DMCA takedown notice.
Required DMCA Elements
Your notice must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material
- Contact information for the copyright owner or authorized agent
- A statement of good-faith belief that use is unauthorized
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate
- A physical or electronic signature
Counter-notifications may be submitted in accordance with the DMCA.
3. Disputes or Corrections
If you believe content referencing you or your organization is inaccurate, misleading, or incomplete, you may submit a dispute or correction request.
Disputes do not guarantee removal. Instead, they may result in:
- Re-evaluation of confidence or classification
- Addition of contextual or corrective information
- Administrative review
Required Information
- Content identifiers or URLs
- Description of the disputed issue
- Supporting evidence or explanation
- Your role or authority to dispute the content
4. Formal Legal Requests
This includes:
- Subpoenas
- Court orders
- Preservation requests
- Requests from counsel or government entities
All such requests must:
- Be sent from an official or verifiable source
- Clearly identify scope, authority, and deadlines
- Include a reference number or case identifier where applicable
We will respond as required by law.
How Requests Are Handled
- Requests are logged and reviewed by authorized personnel only
- Access to raw materials is restricted and audited
- Redacted copies are used whenever possible
- We may request additional information before acting
- We may notify affected users when legally permitted
- We reserve the right to decline requests that are incomplete, invalid, or unlawful

Response Time
We aim to acknowledge valid legal requests within 5 business days.
Urgent matters should be clearly marked as such and include supporting justification.
